A corporate event emcee in Singapore is judged on precision, not personality. Boards, investors and senior managers notice when timing slips, when a name is mispronounced or when the move into Q&A is clumsy. We shortlist emcees with corporate experience for town halls, AGMs, company anniversaries, family days, launches and award nights, and send you profiles, videos and a price.
Price: a corporate emcee usually costs SGD 1,500 to 3,500 for a 2 to 4 hour programme, more for bilingual hosting or panel moderation. See emcee rates in Singapore.
What a corporate emcee does
Your emcee opens the event, welcomes the guest of honour and the senior team by their correct titles, introduces each speaker, links the videos and presentations, runs any awards or recognition segment, keeps the programme to time and closes with the thank yous. When a speaker runs over, the emcee shortens the next link without the room noticing. When the run sheet changes on the day, an experienced host adjusts without needing direction.
Two things that make the difference
A full run sheet five days ahead. Corporate programmes change late, but the emcee needs the structure early. With it, the links between segments sound natural instead of read from a card. Include speaker names with pronunciation, titles, sponsor mentions and any segment that must stay tight.
A briefing with the AV team, not just with you. Most stumbles at a ballroom event come from a missed microphone handover or a video cue nobody told the emcee about. Ask your emcee to meet the sound and video crew during the sound check, 30 to 60 minutes before the start.
If your programme has a panel, check that the emcee has moderated one before. Moderating means managing speaker time and live questions, which is a different skill from scripted hosting. See the conference emcee page.
Male, female or a pair
A male and a female emcee with similar experience cost the same. For a gala or award night, a male and female pair is common because the two can talk to each other between segments. For a single track conference, one host works well. Pick by tone: some audiences expect a formal host, others a warmer one. Tell us the tone and we recommend a host or a pair.
Languages
Many corporate rooms need English with Mandarin, Malay or Tamil. A bilingual emcee costs a little more because the pool of fluent hosts is smaller.
The mistake to avoid
Do not book the cheapest quote and skip the rehearsal. A 20 minute phone run through two or three days before costs nothing extra with most emcees and removes most of the risk. For a large launch, book a venue walkthrough instead. The run sheet and script guide shows what to prepare.
