A conference emcee in Singapore introduces each speaker, links the sessions, moderates panels and Q&A, and keeps a full day on time. A product launch host does the same in a shorter, sharper format, building up to the reveal and hitting every cue. We shortlist hosts with conference, launch and roadshow experience and send you profiles, videos and a price.
Price: a conference, seminar or product launch emcee usually costs SGD 1,500 to 3,500, more for bilingual hosting or panel moderation. See emcee rates in Singapore.
Conferences and seminars
Your emcee opens the day, sets the house rules, introduces each speaker with the right title and a line on why they matter, links the sessions, announces breaks and keeps every slot to time. When a speaker overruns, the emcee trims the next link or moves a break, quietly, so the day still ends on schedule.
Panels. Moderating is its own skill. The moderator introduces the panelists, asks the opening questions, shares time fairly, takes questions from the floor and wraps up on time. Not every scripted host has done it, so ask for a clip of the emcee moderating before you confirm.
Product launches and brand activations
A launch is short and has to look good on camera. The room needs something visual in the first 15 minutes, and the reveal itself should stay under 10 minutes so the press get a clean shot. Your host learns the product's key messages, runs the countdown to the reveal and hands over to your presenter at the exact moment the lights and video change. That precision is why a 90 minute launch can cost more than a four hour party.
Brief the emcee at least a week ahead with the real run sheet and rehearse with the real presenter, not a stand in.
Roadshows
A roadshow takes a brand to several locations across Singapore with a host, live elements and interactive activities. The host draws people in, runs short games or quizzes and passes interested visitors to your team. For booth work at an exhibition, see the trade show emcee page.
What to send your emcee
- The full run sheet with timings, at least five days ahead.
- Speaker and panelist names, titles and pronunciation.
- Product key messages and words to avoid, for a launch.
- Every video and lighting cue, and who calls them.
- The language split, if you need a bilingual emcee.
Ask the emcee to meet your AV team during the sound check. Most on stage stumbles come from a missed microphone handover or a video cue the host never heard about. For events that mix a public sector guest of honour with a commercial showcase, see the government agency emcee page.
